A French soldier, Fany Claudin, quartermaster in the 121st Montlhéry Train regiment (Essonne), died this Friday following “a road accident that occurred during an operational mission to escort a logistical convoy between Dayr Kifa and Naqoura in Lebanon,” reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces. “Despite rapid treatment by a doctor from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the medical team could only note (his) death.”
Deployed within UNIFIL since November
Fany Claudin “was deployed on an external operation in Lebanon since November, within UNIFIL, as part of Operation Daman” and “contributed daily to supporting the force working to restore peace,” added the State. -major who says he associates himself “with the pain of his family, his loved ones and his brothers in arms (of his regiment, Editor’s note)
and assures them of the support of the French armies.”
