Let's go for two days of celebration on the quays of Dieppe (Seine-Maritime), this Saturday November 16 and Sunday November 17, 2024. The traditional herring and scallop fair – 54e of the name – started this morning.
The barbecues in front of the restaurants are already heating up, the herrings ready to get grilled.
Fish sellers and Saint-Jacques are on the war footing to offer Dieppe's white gold to walkers and especially to gourmets who will put them on their plates.

Thus, this Saturday at 8:45 a.m., a kilo of whole scallops sells on average between €5.5 and €6.5, while a kilo of walnuts sells for between €35 and €38.
For fish lovers, fresh herring is sold for around €0.80 per piece.

The wives of fishermen and other fishmongers also offer marinated herrings for €6 per tray.
