On the morning of Saturday, November 16, a major fire hit a building in Ham. The location, 41 rue de Noyon, includes a medical analysis laboratory on the ground floor and accommodation upstairs.

Emergency services were called in around 5 a.m. for a chimney fire which had already spread to the living area. The accommodation was occupied by three people: two adults and a child, all of whom left when the firefighters arrived. They were urgently transported to the Saint-Quentin hospital center for checks after inhaling smoke.

The fire was brought under control thanks to the intervention of 38 firefighters from Ham, Nesle, Rosières-en-Santerre, Montdidier, Moreuil, Ailly-sur-Noye and Poulainville. The medical analysis laboratory should be closed at least for the day. The intervention of the firefighters also made it possible to save an insurance company located next to the disaster site.
