This fire quickly spread to an entire house with an area of 200m2. More than twenty firefighters, notably from the centers of Saint-Paul-lès-Dax and Dax, found the house completely engulfed in flames when they arrived.
The occupant of the house was treated by a medical team. This 66-year-old man was exposed to the fumes. He also had significant burns to his face and hands. His condition, considered serious, required his rapid evacuation to the spa town's hospital center.
Spread avoided
For many minutes, firefighters deployed significant resources to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining houses. In the middle of the night, this fire – the origin of which is not yet known – was brought under control after completely destroying this house.
