As part of COP29, Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and director of the IDEA Association, spoke at a panel of the Ecumene Global Forum.

Referring to Azerbaijan’s presidency of COP29, Leyla Aliyeva highlighted the country’s role in solving global environmental problems, hoping that the decisions to be taken will contribute to strengthening international solidarity for a sustainable future.

In her speech, Leyla Aliyeva addressed a number of points regarding the sustainable management of water resources in Azerbaijan. Panel participants were briefed on a number of measures implemented by Azerbaijan, including 10 water reservoirs planned to be created in the coming years.

She also discussed the measures taken by the IDEA Association to protect water resources. It was reported that millions of baby fish of various species have been released into a number of watersheds across the country. Through the “One Drop” project, the public was informed about the importance of efficient water use.
