A Quebec couple won a million dollars at 6/49 just before a game of bowling. Their way of selecting their numbers is very particular.
Loto-Québec announced the good news in a press release.
“Micheline Heppell Côté and Normand Côté, a couple from Montérégie, won a guaranteed prize of $1,000,000 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on October 19,” we can read from the outset.
The couple has been playing the lottery for quite a while and have a very particular way of choosing the numbers.
“Micheline and Normand have been playing the lottery together for many years, and it is mainly Micheline who buys the tickets. They are used to choosing their selection at random by drawing six numbers from 1 to 49 from a bag,” explains Loto-Québec.
It was Micheline who realized that they had won a huge amount!
“Before going to her bowling game, Micheline went to have her ticket validated at a retailer. She saw the employee’s eyes widen, then the latter told her that the ticket was a winner of a $1,000,000 prize,” says Loto-Québec.
“Not letting herself be fazed, Micheline came home to tell her partner the news and put the ticket in a safe place, then went to the bowling alley as planned. Despite the emotion, she says she played quite well,” indicates the state society.
Micheline Heppell Côté and Normand Côté already know what they are going to do with this large sum. “With the million won, Micheline and Normand plan to spoil their family,” says Loto-Québec.
“The winning ticket was purchased at the Jean Coutu pharmacy at Promenades Montarville, in Boucherville. This retailer will receive a commission of $10,000, equivalent to 1% of the gain,” specifies the state-owned company in its press release.
