Since 2017, Bruno Le Maire has been Minister of Economy and Finance. But after seven years in this position, the future of the politician will be decided at the end of the vote on June 30 and July 7, following the dissolution of the National Assembly by Emmanuel Macron. The early legislative elections will therefore seal the fate of the members of the government and could thus lead to the departure of the tenant of Bercy. While awaiting the results of the next electoral deadline, Bruno Le Maire, who is not aiming for any deputy mandate, is increasing his speeches in the media and on the ground to defend the majority candidates and criticize the left alliance and that far-right.

To support him during these next few days which could well be the last within the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire can count on the unfailing support of his wife, the painter Pauline Doussau de Bazignan. Very discreet about his private life, this son of a Total executive and a school director, very rarely confides about his private life.

A meeting he had in unusual circumstances. “I met her in a driving school, we were doing coding sessions”he confided to Karine Le Marchand. “There was a young girl, who I found very cute, and every time I had to answer a question, she always answered something totally crazy”, he remembered.

Before continuing: “I said to myself: this girl is interesting because she doesn’t respond like everyone else.” In 2015, his friend Antonin Baudry, author of the comic strip Quai d’Orsayalso explained to The Obs, that Bruno Le Maire told him that he had “met the wife of [sa] life” and that he would do anything to conquer her. But, if the politician immediately fell under the spell of the young woman, who was only 19 years old at the time, the latter took longer to be seduced.

Bruno Le Maire: his wedding in a sumptuous castle

In the broadcast of M6, he explained that she criticized him for being too clean on him when they first started. “I invited her for a drink, then two, it was difficult. She didn’t want to at all, she thought my hair was too short and I was much too clean on myself“, he confided. Wanting at all costs to seduce her, the minister dared to lie to her by claiming that he had cut his hair for his military service. “She was disappointed because since then, my hair has always been so short.“, he admitted.

Despite this lack of hair, Bruno Le Maire and Pauline Dousseau de Bazignan ended up getting married on August 8, 1998 in a small town in Lot-et-Garonne. To celebrate this big day, the couple chose the Château de Trenquelléon, a sumptuous estate belonging to the Batz de Trenquelléon family, whose construction dates back to the 18th century. Disinterested in politics and power, his wife has always been – and remains – “the most infallible support” from her husband. “It is my real point of referenceaffirmed Bruno Le Maire.

Bruno Le Maire is the head of a large family

A year after their marriage, the couple welcomed their first child named Louis. Three other boys were then born: Adrien in 2002, Matthias in 2008, and Barthélémy in 2011. Despite his busy schedule as a minister, Bruno Le Maire has always made a point of giving time to his family and watching over She. In May 2023, he congratulated his son Barthélémy who had shared one of his drawings representing a manga hero on Instagram. “Well done my Bartoche! Awesome !”, he commented, proud of his son.

Recently, on the set of the show C to you, broadcast on France 5, in March 2024, the minister revealed that he was concerned for his children. “I have four boys, the only worry I have for my boys is drugs! And I think it’s the same thing for all fathers and mothers in France”, he admitted. Before continuing: “Their first worry is that they are starting to touch this rubbish which will damage their brains, which can make them dependent, which can make them miss out on their life and all the talents they have within them.

Bruno Le Maire: these confessions about his wife which shocked

If he is discreet about his private life, Bruno Le Maire did not hesitate to confide about his intimate life in his book entitled The Ministerpublished in 2004. “I let myself be invaded by the warmth of the bath, the light of the lagoon which came to float on the mirrors of the door, the green tea soap, and Pauline’s hand which gently caressed my penis”, he dared to write. If these writings shocked more than one, for Pauline Dousseau de Bazignan, who has always evolved in the shadow of her husband, there is nothing to jump to the ceiling. “I read this scene before. I didn’t even remember. It was written in such a naive way… It seemed touching to me. I didn’t think it would be controversial”she admitted to the Figaroin 2015. She will not hold it against her husband, whom she tenderly nicknames “Coquito”.
