The Miss Universe competition will begin Saturday, November 16, 2024 at night. France will be represented by Miss France 2023, Guadeloupean Indira Ampiot.
One of the highlights of the competition will be the parade in national costume. Last year, Diane Leyre chose “La vie en rose” with a cabaret side.
Cabaret, a theme also chosen by Clémence Botino (Miss France 2020) and Iris Mittenaere (Miss France 2016), who was crowned Miss Universe in 2016.
Bye bye le cabaret
This year, Indira Ampiot also chose rhinestones and sequins but for a more royal costume. In a castle setting, the Miss revealed her very golden and shiny outfit.
Indira Ampiot wanted to bring together the symbols of France in her outfit: the beret, rooster feathers, the cockade, and the flag.
A flag on the fall of her dress. Does this remind you of anything? Like the outfit of another Guadeloupean at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games? A bit: like Axelle Saint-Cirel who sang La Marseillaise on the roof of the Grand Palais in Paris.
For the Miss, it was the Manzel fashion house which designed and created this costume. It is this same house which, for the Miss World competition, created Clémence Botino’s national costume at the start of the year, as Queen of Versailles.
Watch out for falling
A flamboyant costume full of symbols, for Indira Ampiot in the Miss Universe competition. But pay attention to the length of the train!
Indeed, on the night of Thursday 14 to Friday 15 November 2024, Miss France paraded in national costume in front of the competition jury. And almost fell. “ I got tripped up all the time so I knew it was going to happen. But hey it doesn’t matter, at least I laughed”she says on her social networks, according to Here.
