For mathematician David Chavalarias, the social network X (formerly Twitter) has become a place of “disinformation”. While its owner, Elon Musk, is appointed to the Trump government, he believes that it is no longer possible to continue using it. It therefore provides keys to migrating to more democratic platforms.

A sexual attacker and financial delinquent has just won incontestably the presidential election of the first nuclear power. This stunned more than one. But what should make us think is not so much the number of pro-Trump voters, which is not much greater than during his defeat in 2020 (+0.7% of registered voters as of November 14 ), but the margin of votes which allowed Trump to win (+3 million votes compared to Harris) and the influence of Elon Musk's social network on the American electorate: has 100 million users in the United States. And these were, during the 2022 takeover, more representative of the Harris electorate than of the Trump electorate.

Musk's electoral strategy is then clear: use his influence on this social network to get even a small part of its users to change their minds in favor of Trump. Add to that the fact that X is the traditional media source of choice for finding candidate verbatims and observing political trends, you will understand the strategic advantage of owning X.

By buying Twitter/X, Musk therefore achieved a masterstroke: he acquired the personal data and information environment of a large part of Democratic voters and undecided voters. Several
