This morning, a private lesson for 4th grade students from Vasconie de Miélan college.
They visited the Miélan fire and rescue center. They approached the vehicles and saw their equipment in detail. They touched the specific outfits of firefighters. They walked through the equipment parking areas.
During the morning, the young people were informed about the operation of the barracks. They were able to discover the distribution of roles and missions of the twenty volunteer firefighters from Miélan.
The visit highlighted the order and discipline necessary for the operation of the rescue center. Training, internships and maneuvers are the basis for participating without hesitation in real interventions.
The possibility of joining the Young Firefighters (JSP) group made it possible to evoke the desire to commit to following this training. Sports sessions and theoretical lessons allow you to handle fire hoses and learn the right actions for helping people, group life and helping others. At the end of three years of course, the training is awarded with the Young Firefighter diploma and allows you to join a rescue center as a volunteer firefighter.
