here are the prices and details of the 2024 range

Peugeot has finally made its 408 electric

Appearing on the market in 2022, the Peugeot 408 is a bit of a UFO in the manufacturer's range. It must be said that it mixes genres, with a coupe silhouette, five doors, a low but slightly raised body…

Over the first 10 months of 2024 in , the Peugeot 408 ranks 82nd in sales, while it was 54th over the first 10 months of 2023! We cannot therefore say that it is a hit. But let's not forget that this is a model that measures almost 4.70 m long: apart from the Tesla Model Ylarge cars rarely place in the top 20.

Numerous changes in engines and equipment

Peugeot has chosen to reduce the range to two finishing levels: Allure and GT. Here are the details!

408 Allure 2024

The 408 Allure starts at 37,300 euros with the Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 engine. One positive point: last year the Puretech 130 EAT8 version even cost 200 euros more!

The second proposal is the 210 hp electric engine, with an announced autonomy of 453 km at a price of 44,800 euros (before deduction of the ecological bonus).

As standard, the 408 Allure is correctly equipped: 17″ hybrid and 19″ electric alloy wheels, rear parking assistance and reversing camera, Peugeot i-cockpit with customizable 10-inch digital instrument cluster, rear side windows and dark-tinted rear window, Drive Assist Pack and Safety Plus Pack and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, Connected navigation with 10-inch central touch screen and customizable virtual i-Toggles, Active Safety Brake (automatic emergency braking), three-way upholstery TEP fabric material, heated front seats.

As an option, buyers can add metallic paint (880 euros), the 360° Vision & Drive Assist Pack with VisioPark 360° (4 cameras + front & rear parking assistance) at 780 euros, 19″ alloy wheels at 340 euros, the E-call Navigation Pack: Peugeot Connect SOS + Smartphone recharge at 540 euros, or the comfort pack at 490 euros (AGR driver's seat: mechanical elevation, mechanical cushion nose, electric site and pneumatic lumbar, Passenger seat with mechanical adjustment in pneumatic height and lumbar, + Heated acoustic tinted windshield + heated steering wheel).

The Peugeot 408 will soon be offered as a Hybrid 136

408 GT 2024

The superior GT finish is priced at 41,300 euros with the Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 engine, or 4,000 euros more which is justified by significantly superior equipment as we will see below.

This finish also gives access to the Plug-in Hybrid 225 engine at 51,250 euros, and to the 210 hp electric engine at 45,900 euros.

The standard equipment gains numerous features compared to the Allure version: Hands-free motorized shutter, Connected navigation with 10p central touch screen, customizable virtual i-Toggles, Peugeot Connect SOS, Assistance and Remote maintenance, Peugeot i-cockpit 3D with handset customizable 3D digital instrumentation, heated leather steering wheel, hands-free access and starting, 19″ GRAPHITE diamond-cut rims, and Matrix LED headlights.

As an option you can add metallic paint, Alcantara TEP upholstery at 970 euros, the electric sunroof at 1070 euros, the Focal premium hifi pack at 830 euros, the towing pack at 770 euros, and the 360° vision pack at 780 euros .

Conclusion

Now offered as an MHEV hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric, the Peugeot 408 still leaves customers with a wide choice. It has drawn a line under the Puretech 130 gasoline engine, and the 180 hp PHEV engine.

We also note a more competitive price-equipment ratio, and the disappearance of a certain number of options. Next step: a restyling?

Peugeot will scrutinize sales to see if the electric version manages to bring the figures up. But with a range of less than 500 km, when the e-3008 Long Range reaches 700 km, nothing is less certain!
