Lhe health record will undergo several important changes from January 1, 2025. The main novelty announced by the Minister of Health Geneviève Darrieussecq on franceinfo is the addition of pages dedicated to the risks linked to the excessive use of screens among children .
These new pages will contain advice for parents on managing screen time, monitoring measures to assess exposure to screens and information on potential negative effects (desocialization, psychological disorders, unhappiness).
The objective is to make parents aware of the “harmfulness of too much time in front of screens” and to provide concrete recommendations.
In spring 2024, changes have already been made to improve the identification of neurodevelopmental disorders with a more precise examination grid depending on the child's age and the addition of questions on neurovisual disorders, ADHD and autism.
Last big changes in 2018
Growth curves, which traditionally combine weight and height, were updated for the first time since 1979 in 2018. Children are taller and stronger: 4 to 5 cm were therefore added to the old curves.
Also, for children born since January 1, 2018, 11 vaccines are now mandatory. There were only 3 before.
