What could have caused the fire to start?

We do not yet know what caused the start of the fire which occurred at the end of the day, Wednesday, in a home on Boulevard Jutras Est in Victoriaville.

At 4:15 p.m., firefighters responded to a call for a residential fire. “Paper caught fire on a support. The paper burned without causing any further damage, but it was enough to fill the accommodation with smoke,” indicates operations captain, Yan Fournier.

Ten firefighters were mobilized. They carried out mechanical ventilation to remove the smoke.

The officer wonders what caused the fire to start. “No electrical source, no candle can be involved. But the sun could be to blame,” says Captain Fournier.

A crystal ball was nearby. The sun’s rays, through a reflection effect, may have led to the start of the fire.

“To be clear, I would like to return there this afternoon (Thursday) at the same time to carry out a test when the sun should be at the same position,” said the officer.
