In the north of the country, the hospital supply is currently not optimal. And the question arises of how to make the Wiltz site of the Northern Hospital Center (CHdN) more attractive in order to relieve congestion at the Ettelbruck site and reduce long access distances.

The unscheduled activity of the Wiltz polyclinic will be maintained, underlines Minister of Health Martine Deprez (CSV) in her response to a parliamentary question from DP deputies Gilles Baum and André Bauler.

The future project “Schlasskeier”.

Outpatient surgical care in the areas of urology and vascular surgery will also be developed, both in the current premises of the Wiltz clinic and, later, in the future “Schlasskéier” project. These plans include the construction of a new multi-purpose building with parking, in order to further expand the medical care offer in the Ardennes region.

The radiology department also received an MRI machine and a bone densitometry machine will also be transferred to Wiltz. Other projects concern a geriatric psychiatry unit and a day clinic for the psychiatry of young people. The offer in Wiltz will therefore include outpatient internal surgical care as well as day surgery.

In addition, specialization in the health of the elderly is planned, particularly in the areas of geriatric rehabilitation and geriatric psychiatry. A day hospitalization offer for youth psychiatry will also be supplemented in Wiltz.
