Three years almost to the day after its release, Grand Theft Auto : The Trilogy – The Definitive Editionwhich brings together the three cult episodes of the PS2 era, has just been updated on all platforms, PC, Xbox, PlayStation et Nintendo Switch. The three games therefore pass into version 1.112 and apparently receive quite a few improvements. This is, it seems, one of the biggest updates received by The Definitive Edition.
On X, Synth Potato notes that the games now benefit from a “classic lighting” mode which completely transforms the visual experience of the game to bring it closer to that of the original games. The fog is back, restoring the city’s impression of gigantism. Improvements to the characters’ physique and the crouching position have been made, as have quality of life improvements (notably with the use of weapons in GTA III) or even more faithful management of the weather in games depending on the environments. You can also now pause during cutscenes.
Moreover, Synth Potato note that the studio Grove Street Games the origin of the remasters is no longer mentioned. It seems that following the big problems encountered by the trilogy upon its release, Rockstar has completely taken matters into his own hands. Find the official update notes 1.112 of Grand Theft Auto : The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition below and more details with the thread of Synth Potato listing the 10 improvements the most notable.
