Due to “extreme weather conditions” and the alert issued by the authorities for several Spanish regions including Andalusia, the Poland-Spain match, which will notably pit Iga Swiatek and Paula Badosa, has been postponed to Friday November 15 at 10 a.m. (09:00 GMT), the organizers of the national team competition said in a press release.

“This decision was taken based on recommendations from the authorities to guarantee the health and safety of participants and spectators,” they add. As a result, the Japan-Romania match will open the tournament. Initially scheduled for Thursday at 10:00 a.m., it was postponed to 12:00 p.m. “after a thorough inspection of the site by our technical and security teams”, announced the organizers in a new press release Wednesday evening. The meeting between Slovakia and the United States will not take place before 5:00 p.m.
