Monday evening around 6:30 p.m., emergency services were called to respond to Gingras Street in Warwick for a fire that broke out in a warehouse.
When firefighters arrived, the place was already engulfed in flames.
According to Mathieu Grenier, of the Warwick fire safety department, the fire broke out in the center of the warehouse which is long (200 feet by 70 feet). Firefighters were able to contain the flames at the ends.
The fire safety services of Warwick, Kingsey Falls and Victoriaville were mobilized for this intervention which lasted until the early hours of the morning.
The warehouse was a distribution center for agricultural materials and products rented by the BMR hardware store.
The Vivaco cooperative in Victoriaville, which has the BMR hardware store under its wing, adds, in a press release, that no employee was on site at the time of the fire.
Around 45 firefighters were deployed to this intervention.
