While this Tuesday was taking place in Romans-sur-Isère Nicholas' funeral shot dead in front of a nightclub in Ardèche, the public prosecutor of Marseille took stock of the shooting which cost the life of the 22-year-old young man. Nicolas Bessone was accompanied by the director of the national police in Drôme Hervé Cazaux and by the head of the judicial police of Drôme Philippe Toussaint in charge of the investigation.
Suspects recruited on social networks?
The two suspects in this shooting admitted the facts. They claim that they did not know each other, that they had to go together to a deal point in Valencia and that they were ultimately asked to go to the nightclub that evening for an intimidation maneuver. The driver of the car said he was recruited on social networks. The suspected shooter, a 19-year-old Italian, was “unknown in France”undoubtedly present on the national territory for several months. He admits to having fired voluntarily but, according to the prosecutor, he explained that he had not “the intention to take anyone’s life”. Both were indicted for assassination and attempted assassinations by an organized gang and they were placed in pre-trial detention.
Two injured in the legs, Nicolas hit in the head
On the night of October 31 to November 1, there are people in front of the Seven nightclub in Saint-Péray where a Halloween evening is taking place. According to the Marseille public prosecutor's account, the shooter first opened fire on one of the nightclub's bouncers, aiming at his legs. He then shoots in the direction of a customer's legs. And finally, still according to the prosecutor, he shoots “towards the mass of customers in front of the discotheque”. Nicolas, 22, was hit in the head with irreversible damage. He is indeed a “victim who is neither directly nor remotely linked to this story.”
There is nothing to link the case to the DZ Mafia gang according to the prosecutor
If it is a “action aimed at intimidation”Why ? Prosecutor Nicolas Bessone remains cautious. The extortion attempt is a “working hypothesis”there is no evidence to prove it at this stage. “There is also nothing to link the case to the DZ Mafia” specifies the prosecutor, contrary to what the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau thought, who mentioned this Marseille gang. On the other hand, “everything leads back to Marseille” in this matter says Nicolas Bessone. This is where the vehicles were stolen, and it is also in this city that the suspected shooter was arrested. This is why the case is entrusted to the JIRS of Marseille, the court specializing in organized crime.
