The consumer association offers a group purchase of gas to allow Meurthe-et-Mosellans to make significant savings. Explanations.
At the start of the period of the year when energy consumption is the highest, the UFC-Que Choisir of Nancy and its Region, with the results of past operations, is offering Meurthe-et-Mosellans a “gas” group purchase with an offer at fixed prices over two years allowing consumers to make significant savings on their bills. This offer – currently by far the most competitive on the market – is presented on the site quechoisirensemble.fr and the group purchase runs until December 31, 2024 inclusive.
Call for tenders from suppliers
While energy prices remain at a very high level, UFC-Que Choisir, determined to work concretely for the purchasing power of consumers, has launched, via its subsidiary, SAS Que Choisir, a call for offers from national gas suppliers, so that they offer a financially attractive and legally secure offer. Several suppliers sent offers, and, after analysis, the lowest winning bid is that of Alterna Energie. This offer is offered today to all subscribers served by the national distributor GRDF (excluding local distribution companies).
Between 17% and 22% savings (including tax) compared to the average kWh benchmark price
The winning offer displays a gas price (including tax) between 17% and 22% lower than the benchmark price for the month of November published by the Energy Regulatory Commission. The subscription is at the same price as the benchmark price (among the cheapest on the market). This offer allows you to achieve substantial savings.
Concretely, and in comparison with the “gateway” offer to which former TRV gas subscribers have switched, a household using only gas for cooking or for domestic hot water and consuming 4,000 kWh per year will achieve a saving of 166 euros on your annual bill (573 euros against 739 euros). The gain in purchasing power will be even greater for a household heated with gas and consuming 20,000 kWh per year sincehe will save 473 euros over one year (2,004 euros against 2,477 euros). Considering all the offers currently available on the market, the “Cheaper Energy Together” offer is, by far, the most financially attractive, being at least 13.6% cheaper.
A fixed price over 2 years protecting consumers from a new price hike
In accordance with the specifications, the offer proposed by the winner guarantees the fixed price of gas and the subscription over two years (excluding changes in taxation). Therefore, consumers are protected over a long period from a potential new price explosion linked to gas prices on the markets. The offer “ Cheaper energy together » could therefore actually allow even greater savings than those calculated on the basis of current prices.
Beyond competitive prices, legal security
Beyond the pricing aspect, the “Cheaper Energy Together” offer is once again characterized by reinforced legal security with a secure contract, with clauses more protective of consumers than those conventionally proposed, as well as by the involvement of the UFC-Que Choisir Federation in the processing of possible complaints from subscribers during the first year.
The benefit of previous campaigns for Meurthe-et-Mosellans
Initiated in 2013 on gas, and opened to electricity from 2016, the “Cheaper Energy Together” campaigns have enabled Meurthe-et-Mosellans to make significant savings. During the last 2023 campaign dedicated to electricity, the 2,108 subscribers in the department saved 146.8 euros on average over one year, or 309,454 euros in purchasing power saved in the department.
