The hive that says yes sets up at Mourillon in Toulon with products from local producers

The concept? Every week, La Ruche de offers products from local producers on its website. Everyone fills their basket according to the weekly selection, and can go on Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 1, quai Belle Rive to collect their order.

It all starts from the desire to“a more civic project”. For Marie and Patrick Aubry, working in real estate and cybersecurity, this proximity between breeders, local producers and consumers was greatly lacking in Toulon. “Most of the products we buy come from far away even though we have plenty of great producers right next door, it’s a shame”. By offering fruits, vegetables, flour, honey, juices, cheeses, cosmetics and others, the initiative makes it possible to highlight products, organic or not, in a short circuit.

To celebrate the inauguration, a few partner producers made the trip and offered their products to taste. “It’s difficult as soon as we try to get out of mass distribution, that’s why we wanted to lend our premises,” added the secretary of the bakers' union, Sylvie Boyer Kempf. This Thursday, nearly twenty baskets ordered from around fifteen producers were delivered, a good start for a first week.
