G.Kasbarian persists and signs! – SNES

Change to 3 waiting days, increase to 90% of sick leave pay, freezing of the index point, removal of the GIPA, official bashing on the basis of untruths and guilt-inducing comments… The announcements by Guillaume Kasbarian, Minister of the Civil Service, aroused great anger in the world of National Education.

The SNES-FSU immediately denounced these comments and began an information campaign to prepare for the upcoming mobilizations (article “Guilty of being sick, that's no!): it is about succeeding in a major strike movement for our salaries, our working conditions and our professions, at the beginning of December which could be long-term, therefore over several days. The SNES-FSU reactivates its strike fund-type solidarity fund.

The SNES-FSU also files a strike notice every week.

Meeting on November 7: the Minister continues to brutalize public officials

The immediate reaction of the Civil Service inter-union forced the minister to hold a meeting with all the union organizations. He began by recalling the constrained budgetary framework in an attempt to legitimize his anti-civil servant measures. For the FSU, there are no budgetary constraints but political choices which consist of sparing the richest and shareholders in order to better hit civil servants and public services. The FSU denounced the ministers' vexatious remarks and the measures announced: these are punitive measures as if the civil servants were guilty of being ill. The FSU reminded the minister that his measures are therefore not only shameful, unfair but also stigmatizing towards sick staff! These measures will penalize agents, particularly women, who are more exposed than men and who will therefore suffer more of the consequences of waiting days and reduced compensation. The FSU also denounced the freezing of the index point but also the suppression of the GIPA. The full report of the meeting on the FSU website

As a response to the union organizations and in the face of unanimity against waiting days and the reduction in compensation for sick leave, the minister stood firm! He confirmed the government's desire to make the amendments announced on the waiting day and the increase to 90% of sick leave pay. He also confirmed the freezing of the index point and the removal of GIPA.

Engage in mobilization, commit to the long term

The announcements of the Minister of the Civil Service and his colleagues from the Budget, the Economy and National Education form a coherent whole, in line with the policy pursued by Emmanuel Macron since 2017. Impoverish civil servants, dry up resources public services (for example by the elimination of 8,865 teaching positions in 7 years) to, ultimately, attack public services and public agents for what they are and what they do: being at the service of general interest. Furthermore, everything confirms that public schools are at a tipping point: suffocated by a lack of resources, distorted by a pile of reforms with poorly paid and despised staff.

The SNES-FSU is in battle order for a response commensurate with the gravity of the moment: the field campaign which began at the start of the school year will gain momentum with one objective: to succeed in a major strike movement to our salaries, our working conditions and our professions, at the beginning of December which could be long-term, therefore over several days. It is through the participation of everyone that the movement will be massive, can last and win! The SNES-FSU will carry this demand within the FSU and the education inter-union and will immediately reactivate its strike fund-type solidarity fund to organize financial solidarity.
