The American singer has just announced her return by revealing the cover of her new single. She appears sexier than ever, notably dressed in a pair of supernatural thigh-high boots by Victor Clavelly, young prodigy of the new French guard.

Four years after the release of her album “Smile”, Katy Perry is finally back on the music scene. And what we can say is that the singer has entered a new era given the elements she has already revealed. A few weeks ago, Katy Perry changed her profile photo on her social networks, replacing it with an electric orange background on which “(KP)” is written in a futuristic metallic font. Far, therefore, from his pop and tangy universe that we know. This Monday, June 17, the singer confirmed this radical change in visual identity by revealing the cover of her next single, “Woman’s World”. She poses sexier than ever in a mesh ensemble composed of a micro-bra and a thong, but above all it is the pair of metallic cyborg-style thigh-high boots that accompanies her look that stands out. Behind this impressive fashion piece hides a young French designer, Victor Clavelly.

3D printed thigh-high boots by Victor Clavelly

A graduate of the École Duperré, this young 26-year-old designer based in Paris creates sensational and futuristic outfits, including, in particular, accessories made with 3D printing. Requisitioned to work on the new visual and rebranding of Katy Perry, Victor Clavelly had to reproduce the famous thigh-high boots, from his latest collection, to the singer’s measurements. If the original model had required two months of manufacturing, the young designer told ELLE that he only had ten days to recreate them: “I kind of requisitioned all the 3D printing machines in Paris to be able to make this piece in the temperature. Usually I work with five machines but that wasn’t enough. I also had to call on three other people to help me sand the waders and paint them metallic. »

Concerning the piece itself, Victor Clavelly told us that he had dreamed of it for a long time. “I made these thigh-high boots for my last collection, but I’ve been imagining them, drawing and modeling them for a long time. You can see 3D Mockups on my Instagram account [un rendu 3D d’un design souhaité, N.D.L.R.] dating from 2018/2019 where they were already present. » As for his science fiction volumes, the young creator told us he draws his inspiration from the world of certain video games, anime and manga, “a big influence which nourished my work during my school years and left a trace in my current universe.

Although we have already seen her work on Shay – the Belgian rapper wore her dizzying 3D-printed pumps on the poster for her concert at the Olympia last March – this collaboration with the American singer is the first to date for this creative, but certainly not the last… A young shoot to follow closely.
