TaiwanPlus correspondent Louise Watt was speaking on camera from the United States last week when she said that “the United States will vote for either its first female president or its first convicted felon.”

Trump elected to the White House, will there be a sentence in the Stormy Daniels affair?

“Well it seems that America has chosen the criminal” reported Louise Watt, in a clip shared by the Taiwanese channel TVBS and viewed by AFP.

Taiwanese Culture Minister Li Yuan told local media on Saturday that TaiwanPlus removed the video after telling the channel “the problem was very serious.”

The Public Television Service Foundation, which runs TaiwanPlus, said Monday that the network had “humbly reviewed its procedures.”

The foundation said it would convene a “self-discipline” committee this week to “discuss the matter.”

TaiwanPlus broadcasts videos on its site, on Youtube and on cable.

More than 90% of its audience is outside Taiwan according to the foundation.

In 2023, TaiwanPlus began streaming in hotels across the United States, in “key cities frequented by political and economic elites, such as Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles and Seattle,” the foundation said.
