This Monday, the Gironde Assize Court was to judge the five former FCG rugby players accused of gang rape and failure to prevent a crime.

But the Bordeaux courts ordered the case to be postponed until December.

Because one of the accused, Denis Coulson, was the victim of a serious road accident last week in Ireland.

If the information had reached the ears of the Assize Court, the decision was taken to still summon Rory Grice, Dylan Hayes, Loïck Jammes and Christopher Farrell this Monday morning. Only to realize that it was not possible to open the trial without one of the accused.

The quartet, as well as Denis Coulson, will therefore have to return to Bordeaux on December 2.

They are accused of raping a student in March 2017 during an FCG trip to face UBB. The alleged victim woke up naked in a hotel room, surrounded by several rugby players from Grenoble.

Three of them admitted to having had sexual relations with the young drunk woman at the time of the incident. They always told investigators that the latter consented.

For the acts of gang rape, Rory Grice, Denis Coulson and Loïck Jammes risk up to 20 years of criminal imprisonment.
