Open-hearted confidences… For several weeks, M6 viewers have been following the start of Flavie and Valentin’s love story. If the couple offered each other a tender kiss in the episode broadcast last Monday, in the shadows, the young woman was fighting against illness. Tuesday November 5, 2024, in an interview with Le Parisien, she revealed that she had cancer. Her life would have changed last February, in the middle of filming the show presented by Karine Le Marchand.

“A week after I left Valentin’s farm, the surgeon called me to give me an appointment quickly.
I had been operated on for a tumor analyzed as benign before participating in the show. I had a cyst on my right shoulder and I saw a dermatologist in October 2023. She did a biopsy, everything was fine”
assured Flavie. Although the healthcare professional had advised her against the operation, she wanted to do it anyway for comfort and had the operation on February 1st. “The surgeon was supposed to call me back three weeks later to take stock. He didn’t do it. I was launching myself into the show, I had lots of things in mind”she remembered.

Flavie: “I collapsed”

If the 21-year-old thought not hearing back was good news, her doctor found the results problematic and ended up calling her. “I had a sarcoma (a malignant cancerous tumor that starts in the soft tissue cells of the body). I collapsed.
The oncologist immediately told me that there would be chemo. I did a PET scan, which fortunately didn’t reveal anything further.”
she indicated before slipping: “I went home, cried for half an hour, then I called my sister and my parents who hugged me”.

Quickly, Flavie called Valentin, although she feared that this news would end their romantic relationship. “I told him I had been found to have cancer and that I would understand if he was afraid of the situation. We had only been together for a weekshe remembered. However, the young farmer assured her that he would not “wouldn’t let it go”. “I didn’t ask myself the question of leaving or staying. We always have tough times in life, we have to get over them. Flavie was strong”revealed this one.

Flavie: “I’m not yet in remission”

Particularly moved, Gabriella Mather, producer of L’amour est dans le pré, confided to our colleagues: “When Flavie told me the news, I fell off the chair. She was panicked and I didn’t know what to do. I will remember this phone call all my life. Valentin had called me two days before saying: It’s been seven years since I’ve ever been so happy. For me, there is no longer a show that counts, it’s the one that decides. The timing allowed her to face this with him.”.

Today, Flavie assures us: continuing the show allowed us to say that life continued. Picked up in to begin her chemotherapy, she assured that she tolerated the treatment very well overall. As she returned to work, the young woman added: “I’m not yet in remission, but waiting for results. And I’m doing well ! Why waste away when I’m in good shape and not too sick? Nothing changes except that I no longer have hair.”.
