Written tests, Grand oral, specialties… Find the official dates for the 2024 general, technological and professional baccalaureate.
This Tuesday, June 18, more than 543,000 candidates will focus on the traditional philosophy test, marking the start of the final exams for the 2024 baccalaureate.
On the program: a busy schedule which will run from June to July 2024.
General and technological baccalaureate
In addition to the Grand oral, high school students in the general and technological tracks take a total of four written tests: the French bac test at the end of the first year, then the traditional philosophy test and the two specialty tests in terminal.
If the first year students took their anticipated French written tests on Friday June 14, the final year students will work on the philosophy test this Tuesday June 18, 2024. In the process, the two specialty tests take place from June 19 to 21, 2024.
Finally, the Grand Oral takes place from Monday June 24 to Wednesday July 3, 2024, each candidate having received their invitation indicating the day and time of examination.
Since the baccalaureate reform, 40% of the final grade is obtained through continuous assessment, i.e. the annual average of school reports for the final cycle (first and final classes) in each of the compulsory courses.
The rest of the percentage concerns the anticipated French tests, the two specialty tests, the philosophy test and the Grand oral which represent a total of 60% of the final mark.

Professional Bachelor
The final exams for the professional baccalaureate take place between June 11 and 26, 2024. The written exams in the general area are set respectively:
- Tuesday June 11 for the modern languages test A.
- Friday June 14 for the modern languages test B.
- Tuesday June 18 for the French test, history-geography and moral and civic education.
- Wednesday June 19, 2024 for the prevention, health and environment test and for the economics-law and economics-management test.
- Thursday June 20, 2024 for the applied arts and artistic cultures test.
Concerning the oral and practical tests specific to each specialty of the professional baccalaureate, candidates receive a letter from the general directorate of school education indicating the dates and times of their visit to each academy.
When will the results come out?
The results of the general and technological baccalaureates will be communicated from Monday July 8, 2024. As for the tests of the second group, called “remedial tests”, they will take place until Thursday July 11, 2024 inclusive.
The results of the professional baccalaureate will be communicated from Monday July 8, 2024.
