An American woman won the jackpot in a scratch card game, after she had just learned that she was suffering from brain cancer diagnosed at an advanced stage.
“It was destiny.” In the United States, in the state of Minnesota, Debbie Bury's life was completely turned upside down in a few weeks. Passionate about Blackjack, this great-grandmother has just learned that she has stage 4 brain cancer, report several media outlets across the Atlantic, including CBS.
“I inform you that you have three cancers in your brain,” the doctor would have told him, explains to the media the one who has become very popular in her hospital, whether by the nursing staff or other patients.
“She was a joy to the team,” says Andrea O’Hern, a nurse at the establishment, who even crowned her “queen of the hospital.”
But Debbie Bury's life was turned upside down again when one of her relatives, who was visiting her, brought her a scratch game. After taking part in the exercise and having discovered all the boxes, the patient realized that she had won… 100,000 dollars.
“I will live to be 80”
News that delighted the entire hospital. “It’s not all the time that we have happy surprises in the oncology department,” emphasizes Andrea O’Hern. Debie Bury has since undergone successful surgery for her cancer. According to doctors, she should be able to live six more years.
“I feel like life is going to be good now. It was destiny. I will live to be 80,” she said after the procedure.
