Eagerly awaited by many metalheads, the Hellfest will meet you from Thursday June 27 to Sunday June 30, 2024, just to make the city of Clisson tremble once again. Like every year, many festival-goers flock to the Mainstages. But if you are a lover of doom, stoner or even sludge, then head to the Valley scene where many artists are programmed! Here are 5 bands not to be missed in the Valley this summer at Hellfest!
A must-see festival for all lovers of extreme music, the Hellfest will once again honor hard rock, thrash metal, black metal, heavy metal, doom, dark folk, classic rock and even alternative rock during four days and evenings which promise to be as explosive as thunderous.
The 2024 edition, to experience the Thursday 27, Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, offers festival-goers delicious musical moments thanks in particular to the presence of Metallica, Tom Morello, Bruce Dickinson, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Machine Head and even Mass Hysteria and Kerry King! So many groups and artists to see and listen to on the Mainstages (1 & 2). But the Hellfestthere are also four other scenes, including the Valley dedicated to doom, stoner, dark folk and even experimental metal!
If you are a fan of these different musical styles, then you are likely to spend a good part of the Hellfest in front of the Valley. Also, we have selected for you 5 groups and artists to see this summer in the Valley on the occasion of the new edition of Hellfest.
We recall that the Valley has found a new location on the site since 2023. Gone is the marquee nestled near the duo Altar – Templethe Valley scene is now installed not far from the Warzone.
Hellfest 2024: 5 bands to see in the Valley
GREEN LUNG – Valley – Thursday June 27, 2024 from 7:40 p.m. to 8:40 p.m.
Stoner/Doom – UK
Green Lung, you know ? Playing in stoner and doom metal, this British group is now at the head of three studio opuses, the latest of which is entitled “This Heathen Land“. With its shattering sounds and their beautiful influences (Deep Purple and Black Sabbath), Green Lung is likely to captivate you next Thursday, June 27 during its appearance at Hellfest.
THE DEVIL’S TRADE – Valley – Friday June 28, 2024 from 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Dark Folk – Hungary
The intoxicating and soaring world of dark folk comes to the Valley on June 28 thanks to the presence of The Devil’s Trade. Originally from Hungary, this group led by the bewitching voice of David Makó intends to transform the Valley into a new liminal space. The Devil’s Trade will not miss the opportunity to present to the French public his latest opus entitled “Vidékek Vannak Idebenn“, released on July 14, 2023 via Season Of Mist.
BRUTUS – Valley – Saturday June 29, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Post-Hardcore – Belgium
A good dose of post-hardcore awaits you in the Valley on Saturday June 29 thanks to the arrival of the excellent group Brutus ! Already present in Clisson in 2019, the Belgian group returns in better shape than ever with powerful and scathing pieces, carried by Stijn Vanhoegaerden on guitar, Peter Mulders on bass and Stefanie Mannaerts on drums and vocals. With this trio from Leuven, you are sure to experience a real emotional lift!
KVELERTAK – Valley / Saturday June 29 from 5:45 p.m. to 6:35 p.m.
Black ‘n’Roll – Norway
If you’ve never seen or heard them live before, then now is the time to catch up! Kvelertak, a group formed in 2007 in Stavanger, Norway, has been traveling the European roads since its beginnings. After opening for Metallica in 2017 and 2018, and after a change of singer (Ivar Nikolaisen replacing Erlend Hjelvik in 2018), Kvelertak continues its ascent. In September 2023, the group also unveiled its opus “Endling“, the 5th since 2010! To enjoy a good dose of death, rock and punk, head to the Valley on June 29.

Electro rock – USA
Chino Moreno returns once again to Clisson. But this time, no Deftones on the menu. Time for his side project, imagined in collaboration with Shaun Lopez (singer of Far). Baptized ††† (Sticks)this group is far from being new in the metal landscape, since the formation was born in 2011. After having published a first album, “Crosses“, in 2014, the group gave birth to its second album in 2013. It is entitled “Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete.” and is likely to be in the spotlight on Sunday evening during this set announced on the Valley.
