In the Middle Ogooué province, the “yes” supporters are continuing their referendum propaganda, which began last Friday. Yesterday, Dr Séraphin Akure-Davain, Provincial Coordinator and his family were deported yesterday to the Biweni-Diala Canton, about thirty kilometers from Lambaréné. In this canton made up of twenty-two (22) villages, the upcoming election constituted the framework for discussions.
Professor Hervé Ndoume Essingone, Departmental Coordinator and Minister of Higher Education, immediately invited the audience to vote yes. Before meaning that: “The Constitution defines the new rules of living together“. ” In the Constitution, there are traditional values, respect for our ancestors“, he added. Also an opportunity for him to brandish the article inherent to the limitation of the presidential mandate. Just like that relating to the impossibility of the wife of the President of the Republic and his children to succeed him in the supreme magistracy.
Speaking after him, Martin Mabala, provincial advisor in charge of Wise Men, vividly returned to the advent of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) at the head of the country. As well as the timeline of the Transition of which the referendum constitutes a decisive stage. In the process, he urged the audience to go massively to the polls on November 16.
Dr. Séraphin Akure-Davain, for his part, indicated the issues at stake in the said election. “(…) The referendum gives us the opportunity to choose (…) It's time to start again with new rules. And these new rules are in the Constitution” he insisted.
