Atlantic residents gather Monday to pay tribute to veterans. Ceremonies and gatherings take place in the capitals of the four provinces, among other communities, to mark Remembrance Day.
In Fredericton, New Brunswick, a ceremony at the cenotaph will be preceded by a march at 10:30 a.m. down the street King. A second ceremony takes place at the Marysville Cenotaph.
In Prince Edward Island, the provincial ceremony will be held at the cenotaph, near the National Historic Site Province Housein Charlottetown, from 10:30 a.m.

In Nova Scotia’s capital, a parade will depart from downtown Halifax at 10 a.m. and travel to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
A ceremony will take place at the National War Memorial in St. John’s, Newfoundland from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Many other ceremonies and gatherings are held in towns and villages across the four provinces. Many are organized by the Royal Canadian Legion.
Weather conditions to watch out for
Citizens wishing to attend the ceremonies must bring an umbrella or raincoat. Environment Canada is forecasting rain in the morning and until early afternoon in three Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
For Newfoundland and Labrador, the weather should be cloudy, but without showers.

Across the country, it is at the stroke of 11 a.m. that the population is invited to observe two minutes of silence to remember the signing of the Armistice which ended the First World War on the 11th.e day of 11e month in 1918.
In Ottawa, a national ceremony will take place as every year at the National War Memorial. A special show hosted by Céline Galipeau will be broadcast live online from 10:30 a.m. ET.
