INVESTIGATION – Professionals do not hesitate to inflate the prices of their cards during certain tourist periods of the year. Some of them even took advantage of the Olympic Games to introduce an increase, discreetly.
The Olympic Games were the perfect example… According to a survey we conducted in July, a third of the Parisian restaurateurs we visited had increased their prices during the event attracting several million tourists to the streets of Paris. A 50 cl draft beer increased from 9.90 euros to 14 euros, while the price of an espresso coffee increased from 2.80 euros to 4 euros. Two months after the end of the Paralympic Games, have prices returned to normal? How are restaurateurs adapting to the influx of tourists? Le Figaro went back to compare prices and question them about their business practices.
