This Sunday, the Red Devils largely beat Leicester (3-0), one day before the arrival of their new coach, Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United easily beat promoted Leicester (3-0) at Old Trafford during the 11th day of the English championship, Sunday, on the eve of new coach Ruben Amorim taking office. Captain Bruno Fernandes showed the way to the goal (17th, 1-0), caused an own goal (38th, 2-0) and scored an assist for Alejandro Garnacho (82nd, 3-0).

In the standings, the Mancuniens certainly remain thirteenth, with 15 points, but they are now hot on the heels of a trio formed by Bournemouth, Brentford and Tottenham. This fourth success of the season in the Premier League comes two weeks after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag and on the eve of the arrival of his successor, the Portuguese Ruben Amorim.

In the meantime, the interim provided by Ruud van Nistelrooy was conclusive: the former Mancunian striker, ex-deputy of ten Hag, won 5-2 against Leicester in the League Cup, drew 1-1 against Chelsea then beat PAOK 2-0 in the Europa League, before winning on Sunday. The “Red Devils” also found the net again under the Dutchman’s orders. They have scored eleven goals in four matches, compared to four in Erik ten Hag’s last four.

After his last match on the Sporting bench, Sunday, Amorim (39) will join England and get his bearings in Manchester during the international break, before managing his first match, on November 24 at Ipswich, in the Premier League.
