The terrible news fell this Saturday, June 15. The one-year-old girl, seriously injured late yesterday afternoon in a traffic accident in Régny, has died.
This Friday, June 14, around 6:15 p.m., an accident involving two cars occurred on Departmental 9, in Régny. The toll of this violent confrontation was very heavy: a one-year-old baby was between life and death, his parents living in Saint-Etienne were injured, as well as another motorist.
Among the first people to intervene on the scene, a volunteer firefighter from Régny immediately tried to resuscitate the very young victim, who was in cardio-respiratory arrest. After intense efforts, emergency services managed to bring the little girl back to life. She was airlifted to a hospital in Lyon, in very serious condition, her life prognosis being at risk. We learned this Saturday, June 15, that the child died, as revealed by our colleagues at Progress and as confirmed by the Roanne Public Prosecutor’s Office. His mother was still hospitalized.
An open investigation
An investigation into unintentional injuries and manslaughter by the driver of a land motor vehicle has been opened and hearings will take place when the medical condition of those involved allows it.
