Haute-Corse had been placed on orange alert for risk of rain-flooding.
Haute-Corse was downgraded to yellow vigilance this Sunday, November 10 after having been placed on orange vigilance for risk of rain-flooding, this Saturday, due to a “rain-storm episode”.
“From the middle of the day on Saturday and until the end of the night from Saturday to Sunday, on the eastern coast of Corsica (mainly Upper Corsica), temporarily heavy and stormy rains are expected,” Météo warned. -France in a bulletin published Saturday at 10 a.m.
Rains that do not justify orange vigilance
“Low intensity rain is still occurring in the east of the island. A few thunderstorms offshore in the Tyrrhenian Sea are present. In the second part of the night, sometimes stormy showers are possible in the east of Upper Corsica but no longer justify maintaining vigilant monitoring,” the meteorological institute indicated this Sunday.
Over the last 24 hours, the total rainfall was “around 5 to 15 mm in the east and locally 60 to 70 mm in the Bastia region”.
