The series pass but are very similar to Bergerac Périgord FC. At the start of the season, Yacine Azahaf's players started with 3 defeats in a row to end the series at home with a 2-0 victory against Saint Pryvé. Two months later, the BPFC had the same experience, losing three times in a row recently. Like a prophecy, this Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Campréal stadium, BPFC won 3-0 against Istres. A victory which allows us to breathe a little fresh air into the championship.
“I hope that, like last time, we will be able to go on a series of victories”laughs Yacine Azahaf after the victory. “We really needed to get the ball rolling and stop the bleeding. We have ambitions and we needed to get going. So a 3-0 victory at home was the perfect place.”continues the Bergerac coach. Three goals and three scorers with Jean Jacques Ngita, Keba Sylla and in the last quarter of an hour Lamine Buhanga.
A benchmark victory
After the meeting, Yacine Azahaf, the BPFC coach, is delighted with this success which he considers a benchmark victory since the start of the season. “We had a lot of difficulty in both surfaces for a few matches and with the performance this Saturday, we were efficient and that felt good. Winning 3-0, if that doesn't qualify as a benchmark victory, I wouldn't understand nothing anymore”says the BPFC coach.
A result which does a lot of good because before the match, Bergerac was on the verge of relegation. From now on, the Bergerac club is in 9th place in this group A of National 2. All that remains is to be confirmed in 15 days with a trip to Grasse, one of the big pieces of this championship.
