Will Gabriella Zalapi succeed Neige Sinno? The author and visual artist of English, Italian and Swiss origins based in Paris and published by Zoé in Geneva, was selected in the first selection of the Prix Femina for her magnificent “Ilaria”, which tells the story of a father’s escape through the eyes of his daughter, in Italy in the 1980s. The novel, praised everywhere, is also in the running for the Jean Giono Prize and the Blù Jean-Marc Roberts Prize.

The Swiss are not left out in the Foreign Novels category of Femina, with “The Ruck Family” by the Swiss-based German Katja Schönherr, also published by Zoé, and the French translation of the latest novel by Swiss German Peter Stamm, published in French by Christian Bourgois under the title “L’heure bleue”.
