The November tour begins this Saturday 9 for the XV of France, which faces Japan in Saint-Denis.
The XV of France is back. Five months after his tour in Argentina, he returns to the field to the November exercise, with three matches on the program. The first is this Saturday 9, facing the Japan.
Return to the Stade de France
This duel between French and Japanese takes place at the Stade de France : it is the symbol of a return for the Blues, since they had no longer played within the confines of Saint-Denis since October 15, 2023 and the terrible elimination in the quarter-finals of the World Cup against South Africa (28-29). In the meantime, France welcomed the 2024 Six Nations meetings in Marseille and Lyon, the usual setting being requisitioned for the preparation of the Olympic Games.
A 3/3 in 2022
The last duels against Japan date back to 2022. The two selections had faced each other three times : twice in July and one last time in November. The triple confrontation had turned to France's advantage, victorious twice on Japanese soil (23-42 and 15-20) and once on French soil (35-17).
Dupont holder and captain
For this first match of November, Fabien Galthié started Antoine Dupontto whom he entrusted the captain's armband. The scrum half from Stade Toulouse, French champion, European champion and Olympic champion this year, is making his return with his selection, again since October 15, 2023. The Rochelais Grégory Alldritt will occupy the number 8 position, while Léo Barré will start at the back. It is Thomas Ramos who will accompany Antoine Dupont to compose the hinge.
