Real Madrid – Osasuna (4-0): match notes!

Real Madrid rolled over Osasuna 4-0 despite injuries to Militao, Rodrygo and Vazquez.

Real Madrid crushed Osasuna 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Vinicius Jr. (34th, 61st, 69th) and a goal from Bellingham in the 42nd minute.

Real Madrid starters

Andriy Lunin (7/10) : the Real Madrid goalkeeper finished his match with more assists (1) than saves (0). This statistic is completely crazy.

Lucas Vázquez (5/10) : the Real Madrid captain put out a fairly neutral performance before getting injured at the end of the first period. He also finished this period on one leg.

Éder Militão (non noté) : impossible to talk about his match after the new serious injury he has just suffered. Immense strength and good recovery to him.

Antonio Rüdiger (7/10) : he completely extinguished a Budimir in great form recently and got along well with Asencio, who was immediately confident and well guided by Rüdiger.

Fran Garcia (7/10) : very committed and voluntary, he was impactful on his left side. A very encouraging performance from him.

Edward Camavinga (7/10) : magnificent score from the Frenchman between the faults he caused (4) on ball outings and his multiple interceptions (2). He showed a lot of composure in this role where he will be installed until the break with the injuries to Tchouaméni and Militao.

Federico Valverde (6/10) : lugged to the four corners of the green rectangle, the Uruguayan showed great things in his own way with impressive passing quality and activity, both in the middle and as a right-back.

Jude Bellingham (7/10) : Finally ! Jude Bellingham warded off bad luck and scored his first goal this season with a swaying lob. A magnificent communion with the public ensued, which rewarded an excellent match in the midfield on his part.

Rodrygo Goes (unrated) : the Brazilian called his bench very early in the match and left with an injury a few minutes later.

Vinicius Jr. (8/10) : in a dark afternoon for his team from an injury point of view, Vini wore his when he had the opportunity. He will open the scoring after half an hour of play (34th), following the injury exits of Rodrygo and Militão. A sensational individual action which makes the goal spectacular.

He is the technical leader of Real Madrid, that is a certainty, and a leader must always lead by example. Something he did on his goal and when it came to pressing the opposing defenders… even surprising Mbappé in an ineffective semi-pressing action. In the second half, he will score a second and a third goal thanks to his enthusiasm and his intelligence. Real Madrid needs this Vinicius Jr.

Kylian Mbappé (5/10) : impatient, rushed and in a hurry, another day without for Kylian Mbappé. However, the attitude was there in the second half. In first grade, a little less. But we don’t blame him. When he arrived in the summer of 2001, Zinédine Zidane had to take almost 3/4 of a season to show his true colors. We all know the end of the story: volley in the head of Hans Jörg Butt. There is no doubt that Kylian Mbappé will eventually show his true colors. Incidentally, when Ancelotti positioned him on the left in the second half, he himself was better and Vinicius Jr. scored two goals. We say that, we say nothing…

Coach’s note:

Carlo Ancelotti (7/10) : the repositioning of Bellingham, the choice to start Fran Garcia, the reversal of position between Mbappé and Vini at half-time: no doubt, this Saturday Carlo Ancelotti made choices. He knew he was in the hot seat and, to his delight, the players responded, extending his reprieve a little longer. The strongest image was his hug to the number 7 of Real Madrid after the opening score. The Italian knows it, he can thank his group who were tough and determined, despite the sad news of the afternoon.

Real Madrid substitutes

Brahim Diaz (entered in the 21st minute in place of Rodrygo) 6/10 : it was not the Moroccan’s best match, but we must underline his self-sacrifice and his sense of teamwork on Real Madrid’s fourth goal. The day it returns to its best level, Madrid will be able to smile again.

Raul Asencio (entered in the 30th minute in place of Militao) 7/10 : entered into the worst possible context after Militao’s injury, he showed great confidence with the ball and was the decisive passer on Jude Bellingham’s goal, and in a great way too!

Luka Modric (entered in the 45th minute in place of Vazquez) 5/10 : entered into a managerial role in a match where Real led by two goals, he did not particularly shine.

Arda Guler (entered in the 75th minute instead of Bellingham) : Not rated.

Endrick (entered in the 75th minute in place of Vinicius) : Not rated.

Guillaume Pomade (for goalkeeper, defense and midfielders) & Pablo Gallego (for the attack and the coach)
