The new commander of the community of gendarmerie brigades of Roquemaure and Rochefort-du-Gard, Captain Loïc Pinault, was officially installed this Friday morning in Roquemaure.
After the traditional taking of arms at the foot of the war memorial in the presence of officials, including the chief of staff and sub-prefect Marie-Charlotte Euvrard, a ceremony which saw four letters of congratulations given to soldiers of the brigade, the Squadron leader Julien Delobel, commander of the Bagnols company, painted a portrait of the man of the day.
Born in Nièvre, Captain Loïc Pinault started as a volunteer assistant gendarme in 1999. After a stint with the PSIG in Palaiseau, he entered the NCO school in Châtellerault. He then became a mobile gendarme in Drancy, before completing his weapons diploma in 2008, becoming chief marshal the following year and holding various command positions. His career will take him to « des missions complexes »as Commander Delobel says, overseas or in Mali, before leaving for the departmental gendarmerie in 2016.
“A courageous choice, because it is another profession than the mobile gendarmerie”estimates Commander Delobel. Captain Pinault then took charge of Aubagne, at the PSIG, before passing the officer competition in 2019, then commanding the Orange community of brigades, a few kilometers from Roquemaure. In Vaucluse, it faces “strong activity, a real challenge”says Commander Delobel.
Since September 1, Captain Loïc Pinault, 47, has taken command of the Roquemaure-Rochefort COB, “a beautiful unit, with a playing field as vast as it is varied”as Commander Delobel presents it, where the stakes are multiple, “meet security needs across the entire spectrum, from petty crime to organized crime”the sub-prefect will say. Particularly with regard to drug trafficking, which MP Pascale Bordes will insist on: “We are already asking a lot of you, and we will continue to ask you for more. » As for the mayor of Roquemaure Nathalie Nury, she will emphasize “the issue of public tranquility”on which the gendarmes are on the front line.
