An imposing plume of smoke and flames piercing the building, it was an impressive scene witnessed by onlookers in the hamlet of La Montée in the commune of Damprichard.
This Friday, October 8, around 8:45 p.m. the firefighters were called to a fire in an agricultural shed. When they arrived on site, the site, with an area of 500 m2 on the ground, containing a fodder storage part and a residential part, was completely engulfed in flames.
Heavy damage, but no injuries
During the intervention, a hydraulic device consisting of three lances, including one on a ladder, was necessary. The rapid action of the emergency services thus made it possible to preserve an adjoining building of 1,000m2.
Despite significant damage, no casualties were reported. The owner who was not present when help arrived will be relocated with his parents.
The national gendarmerie, Veolia, Enedis and the deputy mayor were also on site during the intervention. In total, 29 firefighters from the centers of Maîche, Montbéliard, Herimoncourt, Charquemont, Saint Hyppolite and Trois Cantons were present at the height of the intervention. The circumstances of the fire still remain unknown.
