More and more media are talking about the environment. Some even specialize in ecological issues, like UnPointCinq, which received a French-speaking prize for innovation in the media at the beginning of October. Clémence Lallox, its co-founder, is the guest of The media workshop.
UnPointCinq was launched in 2011 in Quebec based on the observation that the media were talking about ecology mainly from the perspective of disasters. The name of this media refers to +1.5°C, the most ambitious objective for temperature rise by the end of the century mentioned during the Paris agreement, sealed in 2015.
At the beginning of October 2023, UnPointCinq came in 2nd position (out of 3) in the French-speaking prize for innovation in the mediaawarded by the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and France Médias Monde, RFI's parent company.
At the microphone of The media workshopthe co-founder of UnPointCinq Clemence Lalloz specifies the editorial positioning of its media, the way it is structured, how it finances itself, and what its challenges are.
