It’s literary awards season. This Thursday, November 7, it was the turn of the twelve jurors of the Prix de Flore, created in 1994 by the writer Frédéric Beigbeder and Carole Chrétiennot, to honor an author “promising, with original and daring talent”.
Benjamin Stock, aged 36 and born in Blois – he worked in communications for companies in the ecological transition sector after studying business and philosophy – is the 2024 winner for his first novel Marcpublished by Rue Fromentin. A victory acquired in the first round.
The story? David Baumer, founder of a Parisian start-up, is going through an existential crisis. His partner neglects him while those around him absorb themselves in the ideologies of the moment: relativism, personal development, agile management…
One of his employees, Sheyenne, introduced him to an underground community of Marc Levy readers. At first mocking, David finally dives into the work of the great novelist, in search of answers.
With this prize, the winner receives a check for 6,150 euros and the right to consume every day, for a year, a glass of Pouilly fumé engraved with their name in the famous Parisian brasserie.
