Montpellier international playmaker Kyllian Villeminot underwent surgery this Friday, November 8, for a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the Hérault club announced.
Duration of unavailability not communicated
Villeminot (26 years old) was injured in the first minutes of his first selection for the French team on Wednesday during a friendly match against Sweden (37-31) in Orléans.
The club did not specify the duration of his unavailability but the Montpellier native suffered the same injury to his left Achilles tendon last December just before the European Championship, for which he was applying. He had not played again all season and returned to competition in September.

Montpellier and its president Julien Deljarry are wondering about the opportunity to recruit a medical joker to the extent that Slovenian international playmaker Stas Skube is also unavailable for many months. Montpellier occupies third place in the championship after nine days.
