The Var suffered serious damage following the floods in October. So much so that seven municipalities located in the east of the department are still deprived of drinking water. According to Publiccontamination of water by bacteria forced health authorities to ban its consumption.
Water distribution points have been set up to remedy the problem and find a temporary solution. Thousands of homes are still without drinking water and residents have had to change their daily lives in recent weeks.
Bacteria in the water and health standards not respected
Water networks were seriously affected during this natural disaster which left its mark. The Regional Health Agency (ARS) carried out analyzes and banned the consumption of tap water following the violent rains in October.
Quality standards were no longer respected following contamination by bacteria and impurities from rain. More precisely, the following municipalities are affected by this ban:
- Callian,
- Fayence (particularly in several sectors),
- Mons,
- Montauroux (excluding Estérêts du lac),
- Seillans (in several sectors),
- Tanneron and Tourrettes.
All residents of these villages must therefore avoid drinking tap water until the situation is restored.
