This chip equipped with 3D V-Cache technology is one of the most efficient gaming processors on the market. The first stock shortages are indicators that demand is there, particularly from gamers keen to prepare their systems for the arrival of the next generation of graphics cards. Whether we are talking about AMD or Nvidia, these cards are expected from January 2025.
Currently, this Ryzen 7 9800X3D is out of stock on major sales platforms such as Newegg, Amazon, and Micro Center. Some system integrators and OEMs still manage to offer it, probably having secured stocks.
The situation causing a break between supply and demand fuels a “scalping” phenomenon. Some resellers take advantage of this to offer it at prices well above the recommended price. On some sites the price has now reached the $800 mark. However, it is not certain that this price increase can continue because if the cost becomes too high, buyers risk turning to other options such as the more affordable Ryzen 7800X3D or the imposing Ryzen 7950X3D.
