New alert in the south of France. Météo-France has placed the departments of Aude and Hérault on orange rain-flood and thunderstorm alert this Friday, November 8.
“This Friday at the end of the day, thunderstorms broke out in Hérault and eastern Aude. These storms lasted a large part of the night from Friday to Saturday. They were accompanied by heavy rain with hourly intensities reaching 50 to 60 mm/h”, specifies the meteorological institute in its latest bulletin at 4 p.m. “The cumulative rainfall for this stormy episode can reach 80 to 120 mm, locally 150/180 mm,” continues Météo-France.
Aude and Hérault are also on orange alert rain-flood and thunderstorms this Saturday until 6 a.m. Also, “in the north-east of Corsica (2B)” on Saturday, “significant accumulations are possible which could justify an aggravation of vigilance. It is appropriate to follow the evolution of vigilance which could be aggravated”, concludes Météo- France.
