It was a passerby who raised the alarm when he saw smoke coming from the house. This Friday, November 8, around 8:30 a.m., firefighters were called to a fire in a house located at 8 place du Tertre in Angers.
The fire mobilized around twenty firefighters from the Angers Ouest, Angers Académie and Angers Chêne-Vert centers, with reinforcement from the Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe barracks. Two vans, a ladder and a respiratory assistance cell (CEAR) to inflate the oxygen cylinders were deployed on site.
A house put up for sale
The police also intervened, like Enedis and GrDF, who cut off the gas during the intervention. The whole house was full of smoke and we managed to save the existing roof and walls.
specifies the group leader of Angers West.
The incident concerns a two-story house that is unoccupied and put up for sale. Neighbors were inconvenienced by the smoke but their state of health did not require transport to hospital. By 10:30 a.m., the fire was under control. » The fire is out. There are still a few residual outbreaks to be treated,” adds the group leader. The origin of the fire remains unknown at this time.
