Éric Zemmour criticizes his head of list for the European elections for having “betrayed” him by calling to vote for candidates supported by the National Rally for the legislative elections.
“She is surrounded by professionals in treason.” Éric Zemmour reacted on BFMTV to the call from Marion Maréchal, the vice-president of his Reconquest party, to vote for the candidates supported by the National Rally in the legislative elections.
“I am both disgusted and hurt,” he declared on BFMTV, “Marion Maréchal negotiated a few miserable places for his friends and his clan within the National Rally.”
Earlier this Wednesday, June 12, Marion Maréchal called for support for “the unique candidates of the coalition of the rights” for the legislative elections which will be held on June 30 and July 7, evoking in particular a “triple mistake” by Éric Zemmour who wishes to present Reconquest candidates against the National Rally.
“The activists pulled for her, we gave money for her, and after 48 hours she abandoned them like dogs, like old socks,” said the president of Reconquête.
“She excludes herself”
Éric Zemmour therefore announces his exclusion from Reconquête as well as that of Nicolas Bay and Guillaume Peltier, also executive vice-presidents of the far-right party and “comrades in treachery”. Laurence Trochu, member of the political committee of Reconquête, is also excluded from Reconquête.
“Marion Maréchal is excluding herself from this party that she has always despised,” said the boss of Reconquête, “she is joining the family camp, she is for family reunification.”
For Éric Zemmour, the “strategic disagreements” between him and Marion Maréchal as well as “the behavior of Marion Maréchal’s clan” are also the causes of this political divorce. In addition, he says he is open to withdrawing certain Reconquest candidates in favor of the National Rally, but “as part of a negotiation”.
