Aude and Hérault are placed on orange “rain-flood” and “thunderstorms” alert

Météo- places two southern departments on orange alert for “rain-flood” and “thunderstorms”. These are Aude and Hérault, according to the bulletin published Friday November 8 at 10 a.m. The episode is scheduled to start from 6 p.m. and continue “during the night from Friday to Saturday”. Thunderstorms “sometimes strong and accompanied by heavy rain” will burst “in the Gulf of Lion, particularly from the east of Aude to Hérault, on the coast and in the interior”specifies Météo-France.

Météo-France warns that cumulative rainfall could reach 80 to 120 mm, locally 150 to 180 mm. In this situation, the forecaster invites residents to move away from watercourses and low points, not to take a submerged road, “even partially” and to stay informed.
