The general director of Trajectoire Québec is hopeful that the tramway project that will ultimately be suggested by CDPQ Infra will be the right one, after the proposal was already abandoned in 2018.

“We are hopeful that this time, it’s the right one,” responded Sarah V. Doyon in an interview Tuesday with LCN.

According to information from the “Journal”, the CPPQ Infra will announce on Wednesday that the mobility project selected is that of the tramway, as initially proposed by the City of Quebec, but with a reduced size.

“It was part of our requests since 2018 to make this project a reality so we hope that the government will move forward,” underlined the general director.

“The additional studies will still have allowed adjustments to what we understand, so perhaps we finally arrive at the best project,” she said.

No need for the 3rd link

CDPQ Infra also suggested that traffic does not justify the construction of a possible 3rd link between Quebec and Lévis, which Ms. Doyon supported.

“There are several ways to improve inter-river mobility without necessarily building another infrastructure, whether public transport or road transport,” she indicated.

She is thinking in particular of the possibility of improving mobility on already existing bridges or even the crossing between the two banks.
